1. General information only
Everything published on this Site is general information written for a broad audience. It is not advice about your company, your situation, or the decision you are about to make. We do not know your circumstances, your finances, your contracts, your workforce, or your jurisdiction, and nothing here has been prepared with them in mind.
We make no representation or warranty that any information is accurate, complete, or current. Laws, regulations, tax rules, insurance products, software features, and prices change frequently, and information that was correct when published may be wrong by the time you read it.
2. No professional relationship
Using this Site, reading our content, subscribing to our newsletter, or contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship, a fiduciary relationship, an adviser-client relationship, an agency relationship, or any other professional relationship between you and us.
We are not, and do not hold ourselves out as, any of the following:
- a law firm, an attorney, a lawyer, a notary, or a paralegal service;
- a registered investment adviser, a broker-dealer, a financial planner, or a securities professional registered with the SEC, FINRA, a state securities regulator, or a Canadian provincial securities commission;
- a certified public accountant, a chartered professional accountant, a bookkeeper, or a tax adviser;
- a licensed insurance agent, broker, producer, or adjuster in any state or province;
- a mortgage broker, a lender, a loan originator, or a credit repair organization;
- a licensed human resources consultant, an employment adviser, a payroll provider, or a professional employer organization.
Where you need advice on which you can rely, engage a professional who is licensed in your jurisdiction and who will look at your actual facts.
3. Jurisdiction matters: United States and Canada
This Site is written for a North American readership, but there is no single set of rules that applies across it. In the United States, business law, employment law, insurance, tax, and professional licensing are largely governed at state level, with federal law layered on top and municipal rules on top of that. In Canada, most of the same areas are governed provincially and territorially, and Quebec operates under a civil law system that differs from the common law provinces in ways that matter.
The consequence is that an approach that is lawful, standard, or advantageous in one state or province may be unlawful, unavailable, or expensive in another. We generalize in order to be readable. Do not assume that anything described here applies where you are, and check the position in your own jurisdiction before you act.
4. Finance, investing, and capital decisions
Articles in our Finance category, and any mention of loans, financing, cash flow, budgeting, working capital, reserves, capital allocation, or investment, are general educational material.
They are not investment advice, not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or financial product, not an offer or solicitation, and not a statement that any strategy is suitable for you or for your company. We do not provide personalized financial recommendations, and we are not paid by any lender or financial institution to send you to them as a client.
- All investment and financing decisions carry risk, including the risk of losing money, and including the risk that your business cannot repay what it borrows.
- Past performance does not indicate future results.
- Interest rates, fees, terms, covenants, and eligibility criteria differ by lender, by borrower, and by jurisdiction, and the offer you receive may bear no resemblance to the figures in an article.
- Tax treatment depends on your entity type, your state or province, and your individual circumstances, and changes over time.
Speak to a licensed financial professional and to a qualified accountant, and read the actual documents you are asked to sign, before making any financial decision.
5. Insurance
Articles in our Insurance category are general educational material about how types of coverage work. They are not insurance advice, not an offer or solicitation of insurance, not a quote, not a binder, and not a recommendation of any carrier, policy, or coverage limit.
Only the policy document issued by a carrier determines what is covered, what is excluded, what limits and deductibles apply, and what conditions you must satisfy for a claim to be paid. Nothing on this Site changes, interprets, or supplements any policy you hold.
Insurance is regulated at state level in the United States and at provincial and territorial level in Canada. Products, mandatory coverages, policy wordings, filing requirements, and consumer protections differ significantly, and a product described here may not be available where you are. Consult a licensed agent or broker in your state or province, disclose your actual exposures accurately, and read the policy before you rely on any coverage.
6. Legal and compliance content
Articles in our Legal category, including anything about employment law, contracts, corporate structure, data privacy, recordkeeping, or regulatory compliance, are general information. They are not legal advice, and reading them does not create an attorney-client relationship.
- The same facts can produce different outcomes in different jurisdictions, and often in different courts within the same jurisdiction.
- Deadlines to act — limitation periods, filing windows, notice requirements, statutory charge-filing periods — can be short, and missing one can extinguish a valid claim permanently.
- Template clauses, checklists, and sample language in our articles are illustrative. They are not drafted for your transaction and should not be used without review by a lawyer.
Do not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of anything you read here. Consult an attorney or lawyer licensed in your jurisdiction about your specific facts before you take a step with legal consequences.
7. Human resources and employment content
Articles about hiring, recruiting, payroll, benefits, compensation, discipline, terminations, and retention describe general practice. They do not state the legal requirements that apply to you, and they are not a substitute for advice from an employment lawyer or a qualified HR professional.
Employment decisions carry legal exposure under federal, state, provincial, and local law, including in areas such as worker classification, wage and hour rules, overtime eligibility, mandatory leave, accommodation obligations, notice and severance, pay transparency, and anti-discrimination and anti-retaliation protections. Requirements differ sharply between the United States and Canada, between states and provinces, and by employer size, and several of these areas have changed materially in recent years.
Before you act on anything in this category — particularly on classification, discipline, termination, pay, leave, or a workforce reduction — take advice on your specific facts from a professional licensed where your employees work.
8. Management and leadership content
Frameworks, routines, checklists, and decision methods described in our Management category are heuristics offered for reflection, not validated methods with predictable outcomes. Evidence in management research is frequently contested, context-dependent, and drawn from organizations unlike yours, and practices described as originating in one business culture are simplified when transferred to another.
Applying anything from this category is a judgment call that remains yours. Where a management decision has legal, financial, or employment consequences, sections 4 to 7 apply to it as well.
9. Business software reviews and comparisons
Features, pricing, plan limits, integrations, and terms described in our reviews and comparisons reflect what we understood at the time of writing and change without notice. Vendors restructure their plans, move features between tiers, and change prices frequently.
Where we have not tested a product ourselves, we say so in the article and the description is based on published documentation. Where we have tested it, our assessment is our subjective editorial opinion, not a certification, an audit, or a guarantee of fitness for your use. Verify features and prices on the vendor’s own site, and check the vendor’s security, privacy, and data-residency terms yourself before entrusting it with payroll, HR, financial, or personal data.
10. Automated and AI-assisted content
Some content on this Site is produced or drafted with the assistance of automated systems, including artificial intelligence, and then reviewed by a person before publication. Automated systems can produce statements that read as confident and authoritative and are nonetheless wrong, including invented figures, misattributed sources, and legal or regulatory requirements that do not exist.
Where accuracy matters to a decision you are about to make, verify the information against a primary source: the statute, the regulator, the carrier, or the vendor. Our approach is described in our Editorial Policy.
11. No results promised
Any results, savings, improvements, or outcomes described on this Site are examples, not promises. They are not typical, are not guaranteed, and depend on factors outside our control.
We make no earnings claims and no representation that using our content will improve your revenue, your margins, your retention, your compliance position, or the quality of your decisions. Where an article describes a company’s experience, it is illustrative and does not describe a client of ours.
12. External links, advertising, and affiliate income
We link to third-party sites, including lenders, carriers, software vendors, and professional services, and we display advertising served by third parties. We do not control, verify, or endorse them, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, products, prices, or practices. The appearance of an advertisement is not an endorsement by us, and we do not select which advertisements appear.
Some links are affiliate links, from which we earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We are not a broker, a lead generator, or a referral service, and we do not sell your information to lenders, carriers, or law firms. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.
13. Accuracy and updates
Each article shows the date it was published and, where applicable, the date it was last substantively reviewed. Figures, rules, and prices were accurate as we understood them at that date. We review articles in regulated categories periodically, but we do not undertake to keep every detail current, and an article carrying an older date should be treated as a starting point for your own verification rather than as a current statement of the position.
If you find an error, tell us at info@arteamente.it and we will correct it.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage — including lost profits, regulatory penalties, legal costs, tax liabilities, uninsured losses, or employment claims — arising from your use of, or reliance on, anything published on this Site. Your use of the Site is at your own risk. See our Terms of Service.
Nothing here excludes or limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.
